Penrod Construction Company was founded in 2008 in Okeechobee, Florida, by Corey and Desiree. What began as a construction company quickly became more than a business—it became a family legacy built on hard work, craftsmanship, faith, and a commitment to serving others.

Before establishing Penrod Construction Company, Corey gained valuable experience in the construction industry as a superintendent. That experience helped shape the foundation of the company and established a standard of excellence that Corey carried throughout its years of operation. From the beginning, Corey was never simply an owner working from an office. He was, and always has been, a hands-on builder in the field, working alongside his team and taking personal pride in every project.

Corey and Desiree married in 2009, bringing together a large family deeply rooted in their faith in Christ. Their family includes Emery Coleman, Alexi Stripling, Shaun, Jayden, Jaxon, and Avery. Family has always been at the center of who the Penrod's are, and that same value became an important part of the foundation of their business.

A New Season

As the years passed, Corey and Desiree felt the Lord leading their family into a new season. Before Penrod Construction Company closed its doors in 2025, Corey, Desiree, Jayden, Jaxon, and Avery made the move from Florida to Alabama, trusting God with the next chapter of their lives.

Their move to Alabama was about more than a change of location. It was a step of faith and obedience to what they believed the Lord had planned for their family. Alongside Aaron and Sarah Hall, they helped plant Jubilee City Church in Daphne, Alabama, establishing a church community centered on Christ and a desire to serve the people around them.

Although Penrod Construction Company closed its doors in 2025, the Penrod's passion for construction and their desire to build never ended. The years of experience, relationships, craftsmanship, and lessons gained through the original company remained a part of their family legacy.

Penrod Construction — 2026

In 2026, Penrod Construction Company opened its doors once again, beginning a new chapter in the story that started back in Okeechobee in 2008.

This time, Corey and Desiree are continuing the trade alongside Zach Stripling and Shaun, bringing together experience from one generation with the energy and dedication of the next. With roots that remain firmly planted in Okeechobee and a new home and calling in Alabama, Penrod Construction is once again pursuing opportunities to build and serve in both communities.

The reopening of Penrod Construction Company represents more than simply starting a business again. It represents restoration, family, faith, and a continued commitment to the craft. What began in 2008 has been given a new chapter in 2026, carrying the same principles forward while embracing what lies ahead.
